The existing server platform has long managed video, photos, podcasts, music and more into its user’s personal libraries, and now it plans the same for their own streaming media service. It’s not just TV, though, on the Plex list of media to conquer. What’s better still, all of Plex TV’s supplied content is free, paid for in typical ad-supported fashion offered by similar streaming services. The line-up at launch is impressive, and with a service that’s only set to grow, life is looking good at Plex. The selection of on-demand movies and TV shows are currently provided by partners Warner Bros, MGM, Lionsgate, Legendary, Magnolia Pictures, and Crackle, but expect that list to keep growing as time goes on. With over 80 channels to choose from, there’s always something on. In May 2020, Plex launched a streaming service, loaded with content from some pretty big names. The interface is streets ahead of similar services, and so are the number of features you can take advantage of. The idea of Plex was always to provide a server system for users to store their own media content-locally-then stream it to their devices via an app created for almost all devices and platforms, wherever they were in the world.
